What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word millennial? Some would say that these are young people born somewhere between 1980 and 2004. For us, it represents love, friendship, cooperation, humanity, caring for others. We are all witnessing tremendous technological progress but at the same time, this is still not seen in the improvement of everyday life. There are many people who are starving, many children without basic necessities and this is not something we agree with. We believe that the time has come for a new generation of leaders to start implementing what we believe to be the standard norm in our society. Our determination is great and our dreams are even bigger.
Millennials for Serbia is a humanitarian organization that wants to improve our neighborhoods, our cities, our country. We want to invest our time and knowledge to make our communities better places to live. We want to fight for love, cooperation and unity and use our own example to show it. We are convinced that we will help our country if we provide the conditions for the youth in our country to progress and reach their full potential. If you value the same virtues as we do, you are more than welcome to join us.
Our mission
We want young people to have the opportunity to show their true potential. We want to cooperate with all institutions and actors in our country to make sure that young people have their voice. The fight to educate and raise awareness of the importance of the millennial generation will always be our top priority.
Our vision
We believe that our planet and our country with it will be such a beautiful place to live. We want to make sure that there is no child without basic conditions, that there is no student who does not have money to pay school fees, that there are no elderly people who are left alone in their old age. A society where people use technology to improve their lives is what we want for our cities, our country, our planet.
Projects
You too can be Santa Claus
I believe we still remember the joy and excitement New Year’s Eve brought us when we were younger. There are many reasons for this, but definitely the biggest one is getting all those Christmas presents. Knowing this, Millennials decided to participate in a traditional project that aims to collect gifts for numerous children across our country. This year we brought smiles to children from Belgrade, Niš, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Bečej, Sopot and many others.
Planting 250 black pines
One of the main points of our work and projects is environmental protection. We want to preserve and further develop green fields and create more places that future generations will be proud of. Rapid industrialization and unsustainable development have caused great harm to many countries, including ours, so we should be very careful with this issue.
Donation for "Adligat"
If there is anyone who hasn’t heard of or hasn’t visited Adligat, you should change that as soon as possible. Adligat is one of the proofs that Serbia can be successful in almost everything it wants. Adligat is a civil society organization that operates in the field of culture, art and the promotion of international cooperation between Serbia and the rest of the world.
Children
One of the things we want to pay special attention to is our children. There are more than enough neglected children across our country and if we watch and allow this to happen, our society will not improve. Who knows how many new Djokovics, Teslas, Pupins are waiting to be discovered and many of them do not have the basic conditions to show their true potential. Our goal is to find talented children, the future leaders of our country, to invest in them and give them the opportunity to become the best people they can be when they grow up. One of our main goals is to increase the birth rate in our country and to support any idea that can lead to this result. About 60,000 children are born in Serbia every year, and about 85,000 of them die every year. We want to help change that trend and many of our projects are focused on that issue.
Education
By providing a higher level of education, we believe that we will ensure enormous prosperity for our society. New technology and the Internet have enabled young people to compete in the global market and prove their worth. There are many young people who have recently found jobs online working for US, EU and worldwide markets. Self-employed people. Our world is changing at a fast pace and we have to keep up with all these changes. Having all possible information available on a device that fits in your pocket is something that happened suddenly and humanity is still trying to adapt to those changes. The millennial generation is the first generation in human history to have such an opportunity. We have to educate ourselves and then educate new generations and how to use that advantage. They don’t say for nothing that education is the best weapon you can use to change the world. We want to ensure that it changes in the right direction.
Brain drain
One of the biggest obstacles and challenges facing our society is the massive brain drain. Some statistics say that about 50,000 people, mostly millennials, are leaving our beautiful country, many of them never to return. Many doctors, nurses, IT specialists, mechanical engineers and manual workers are leaving our country in search of better opportunities. This cancer wound of our society will remain our biggest focus in the future. We want to provide jobs for all young people who want to return to Serbia from abroad and start their families here. We want to use the knowledge of people who are already abroad and to help our country with our ideas, connections and knowledge of foreign markets. We want all Serbs around the world to cooperate and work towards the same goal – to help Serbia and the people in our country.
